WHEEL OF LIFE
An online weekend workshop with David Nichtern
Friday, November 12th - Sunday November 14th, 2021
COST: $295
The Wheel of Life is one of the most accurate mirrors of our minds and our lives ever created. Let’s take a trip through the six realms together.
REGISTERHave you ever felt like your life is on repeat?
Do you wake up each morning feeling like you’re trapped in the movie Groundhog Day, unable to escape the feeling of familiarity and redundancy?
It’s not uncommon for our habitual patterns and projections to overwhelm the brilliance and vividness of our experience in the present moment—sometimes leaving us feeling resentful, desperate, dulled out, overcome by greed and ambition, or just longing for a fresh start.
If you can relate, this workshop is for you.
REGISTEREXPLORING THE WHEEL OF LIFE
Led by David Nichtern and based on his book, Awakening From The Daydream, this unique weekend workshop will present a contemporary look at Buddhist teachings based on The Wheel of Life. Commissioned by the Buddha himself, this ancient painting illustrates the cycles of existence (samsara) that we pass through day after day, lifetime after lifetime.
The Wheel of Life also illustrates how karma works in our lives—how we get trapped in confusing, painful, and repetitive patterns, and how we can liberate ourselves from those patterns.
Together we will explore the moods, challenges, aspirations and obstacles that each of us experience every day of our lives. The journey we take in samsara is based on seeking pleasure and comfort while avoiding pain and uncertainty as we wander through six realms— gods, jealous gods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts and hell—all the time fundamentally bewildered about our own true nature.
THE WHEEL OF LIFE WORKSHOP INCLUDES:
- Sessions online across three days from Friday, November 12th to Sunday, November 14th (Friday 7-9pm ET, Saturday & Sunday 10-6pm ET)
- Exploration of The Wheel of Life and how we can liberate ourselves from repetitive patterns
- Open discussion
- Group meditation
- Instruction from Senior Buddhist Teacher David Nichtern
All levels are welcome.

ABOUT AWAKENING FROM THE DAYDREAM:
Awakening From the Daydream presents the ancient teachings of The Wheel of Life in more contemporary language, with imagery more immediately recognizable to modern readers.
The illustration of the Wheel used in the book depicts modern people in contemporary settings to convey the psychological tone of each of the six realms. This approach is very much in keeping with how David Nichtern learned about the six realms from his teacher, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
